This policy explains what information R Martin Law Group, P.S. (“we,” “us”) collects through bellevueinjurylawyer.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are a personal injury law firm with offices in Bellevue and Tacoma, Washington.
The short version
- We collect what you choose to send us (through the contact form, the chat, a call, or an email) so we can answer you and review your case.
- We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
- We share it only with service providers that help us run this website and respond to you, and when the law requires it.
- Sending us information doesn’t make us your lawyer. Please don’t send anything you need kept strictly confidential until we’ve talked.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information. Call (425) 635-2000 or email info@rmartinlaw.com.
Information you give us
When you fill out a form, use the chat, call, or email us, we collect what you share. That usually includes:
- Your name, phone number, and email address.
- What happened: the type of accident, when and where it happened, and who was involved.
- Your injuries and medical care, if you choose to tell us.
- The page you were on when you sent the form or started the chat.
Please don’t send Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, insurance policy numbers, or medical records through the website. We’ll ask for what we need once we’ve talked.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our server receives your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We use your IP address to block spam and repeated form submissions.
- Spam protection. Our forms and chat use Google reCAPTCHA, which checks whether a visitor is a person or a bot. Google receives information about your device and your use of the page to do this.
- Cookies and similar tools. We use a small number of them, mainly to measure whether our ads lead to inquiries. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.
Our chat assistant
Our website has a chat window that answers general questions about our firm and takes down details about your situation so we can follow up. The chat is run by an AI assistant, not a lawyer. Nothing in the chat is legal advice, and using it doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship.
- What’s collected: the messages you type and the assistant’s replies, any contact details you give, the page you started on, the time, your IP address (to prevent abuse), and a reCAPTCHA spam score.
- When it becomes a request: if you give us a phone number or email, we save the conversation as a case review request and send it to our office, even if you don’t finish the chat, so we can follow up.
- Who processes it: your messages are sent to Anthropic, the company that provides the AI model, to write the replies. Anthropic processes them for us under its commercial terms. Anthropic states that it doesn’t use inputs or outputs from its commercial products to train its models by default, and that it deletes them within 30 days, with limited exceptions such as legal or safety requirements.
- How long it’s kept: chats without contact details are deleted from our website 7 days after the last message. Your browser also keeps a copy for up to 7 days so the chat can pick up where you left off. You can remove it by clearing your browser’s site data.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions and review whether we can help with your case.
- To call, text, or email you about your request.
- To run, secure, and improve this website, including blocking spam and abuse.
- To measure whether our online ads lead to inquiries (without using your case details).
- To meet our legal and professional duties as a law firm.
Calls, texts, and emails
When you send us your phone number or email, you agree that we may call, text, or email you about your request, including by automated means, even if your number is on a Do Not Call list. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any text, or tell us at any time that you’d rather not be contacted. Agreeing to be contacted is not a condition of hiring us.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with marketers. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run this website and respond to you, under their own privacy and security terms: our web host (GoDaddy), our email delivery service (Brevo), Google (reCAPTCHA, Google Ads conversion measurement, and Google Maps, including the Google reviews shown on our reviews page), Anthropic (the chat assistant), and WordPress.com (Jetpack visitor statistics).
- People working on your matter, such as co-counsel or experts, only after you hire us and as your case requires.
- Others when the law requires it, such as a court order or subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, our firm, or others.
- A successor firm, if our practice is ever merged or transferred, subject to the lawyer ethics rules that protect client information.
Washington consumer health data
Washington’s My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373) gives Washington residents rights over “consumer health data.” When you describe your injuries or medical care in a form or chat, that may be consumer health data. Here is how we handle it:
- What we collect: descriptions of injuries, symptoms, treatment, and providers that you choose to share with us.
- Why: only to respond to your request and evaluate your potential case. We don’t use it for advertising.
- Where it comes from: you, through our forms, chat, calls, and emails.
- Who we share it with: only the service providers listed above that store or carry your message (our web host, email delivery service, and, for chats, Anthropic), and as the law requires. We don’t sell it.
- Your rights: you can ask whether we have your consumer health data, see it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent. Contact us at (425) 635-2000 or info@rmartinlaw.com. We’ll answer within 45 days. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and if you’re not satisfied you can contact the Washington Attorney General.
How long we keep information
We keep case review requests and the details in them as long as needed to evaluate and handle your matter, and as long as required by law and the Washington lawyer ethics rules. Chats that don’t include contact details are deleted after 7 days. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to the website’s admin area, and limited access to case review requests. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please don’t send highly sensitive information through the website.
Children
This website isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information online. If a child was hurt, a parent or guardian should contact us.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct, or delete: ask us what information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Some information we may need to keep for legal reasons; we’ll tell you if so.
- Stop calls and texts: reply STOP to a text or tell us you’d rather not be contacted.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. See our Cookie Policy.
- Do Not Track: there’s no common standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, so our website doesn’t respond to them.
Residents of some states have additional privacy rights under their state laws. We’ll honor requests under the laws that apply to us. To make a request, call (425) 635-2000 or email info@rmartinlaw.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
